This was a post that had been languishing in draft since last June.

Nola, rug knot weaving on foam core

The purple silk satin originated from a dressmaking commission, a prom dress for Nola.

Nola had fallen in love with Elizabeth Shue's 1996 Oscars gown:

Elizabeth happened to buy this off the rack in a shop on Sunset Blvd, and I went and tried it on to see how it was constructed!
