#AtoZchallenge 2021: V is for the Veil Series
This body of work began in the '70s as silkscreen monoprints.

These are silkscreen monoprints created in the mid '70s. I would create different screens with repeating motifs and print various combinations. These all on top of older "reject" monoprints.
Then I played with cutting "rejects" into strips and creating collages.
For an exhibition in 2009, I did another version of the collage-on-canvas technique, this time using color copies of the "good" monoprints.
Last year, during a rare studio clean-up (more likely I was trying to find something), I found a box of left-over strips.
I thought, why not weave them?

That progressed into a larger piece (still in progress)
Right now, the individual woven units are affixed to foam core with temporary adhesive.
I plan to interweave the loose "ends" on the units, and make it a permanent composition.
This month, I will be blogging my way through the alphabet,
as part of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge.
With each letter, I am going to feature something about my art work.
