Kumihimo

Kumihimo is a Japanese braiding technique. This piece was my first experiment with the craft, utilizing natural color poly/cotton cord and black draw cord tape with red contrast stitching. It is interwoven with more of the draw cord tape, and is all stitched onto cheetah print jersey over black denim. The hanging rod is covered with red embroidery floss kumihimo.
